VOW Students Depart for Divya Kala Mela at Rabindra Sadan

Students and staff of Voice of World departed from the Aaspriha Bhavan campus to Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata, to participate in the Divya Kala Mela 2026 — a government-organised arts fair hosted by the Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal. The group was formally invited and held Stall No. 10/20, showcasing artwork and creations by specially-abled students. Group photographs were taken in front of the VOW building, with students in their blue uniforms, before the journey.

VOW Participants Meet India's First Blind IAS Officer at the Mela

At the Divya Kala Mela, Voice of World participants had a warm and memorable meeting with Bilwamangal Sardar — India's first visually impaired IAS officer, who had come from Karnataka to attend the fair. The chance encounter was a source of inspiration for VOW's blind and specially-abled students. Additionally, stall allotments for the event were confirmed, with an Excel file shared among the team, and special feature days were announced for July 16 & 17.

Rath Yatra Celebrations at Aaspriha Bhavan

Voice of World celebrated Rath Yatra with great devotion at Aaspriha Bhavan. A procession was held with Lord Jagannath's idol, with students dressed in festive attire. As part of the Rath Yatra observance and its spirit of new beginnings, two trees were planted on the campus grounds. Students also engaged in Rath Yatra-themed artwork, channelling the festival's colours and energy into their creative work.

VOW Stall Active on Special Feature Day at Divya Kala Mela

The Voice of World stall was in full swing at the Divya Kala Mela (Nandan / Rabindra Sadan complex) on its special feature day. Students proudly displayed their artwork and creations, welcoming visitors and sharing the story of VOW's inclusive education mission. Photos with GPS timestamps confirmed the team's presence at the venue through the afternoon of July 16.

Aparajita Award 2026 — Support for Blind Football Player Sangita Metya

Group member Goutam Dey shared a voting campaign for the Aparajita Award 2026 in support of Sangita Metya, a blind football player associated with the Football Association for the Blind of Bengal. The group was encouraged to vote and support Sangita's recognition as an outstanding differently-abled sportswoman — a cause closely aligned with VOW's mission of celebrating ability beyond disability.

Strings & Beats — Baithaki Classical Music Evening at Sarat Sadan

Lead Kindly Light (Voice of World's charitable trust) hosted Strings & Beats, a Baithaki Classical Music Evening — a charitable concert for blind and underprivileged children. The intimate gathering honoured the timeless legacy of Pt. Shyamal Bose and Pt. Kamal Bose. Students of Voice of World participated in the inauguration programme. Photos from the event were shared in the group by members Avijit Mukherjee and Barsha, capturing the warm atmosphere of an evening where music met purpose.

Birthday of Gargi Didi — Heartfelt Wishes from the VOW Family

The Voice of World WhatsApp group came alive with heartfelt birthday wishes for Gargi Didi, the founder and guiding light of Voice of World. Members from across the community — students, staff, parents, well-wishers, and partners — sent warm messages in Bengali and English to honour her on her special day. The outpouring of love reflected the deep bond she has built with everyone connected to VOW's mission of inclusive education and community outreach.
