Remembering Birsa Munda — Balidan Diwas
The Voice of World community observed Birsa Munda Balidan Diwas (Martyrdom Day) on June 9. Members paid heartfelt tribute to Dharti Aaba — the great tribal freedom fighter who gave his life on this day in 1900, championing the rights of India's indigenous communities, forests, and land. The day was marked with shared tributes and the resounding salute: "Dharti Aaba ko shat-shat naman" — a hundred bows to the Great Earth Father.
Communal Tiffin at Voice of World Inclusive Education Centre
Students and teachers at Voice of World Inclusive Education Centre, Aaspriha Bhavan shared a warm communal tiffin on Wednesday. Children in their school uniforms sat together on the floor with staff, eating from common vessels — a simple but deeply nourishing ritual that reflects the family spirit at the heart of Aaspriha Bhavan. As one observer noted, these are precisely the kinds of everyday moments — shared meals, laughter, togetherness — that define life at the centre.
Students Paint Under Mallika Ma'am's Guidance
Anwesha Panja and Ankit Sikdar were spotted painting under the gentle guidance of Mallika ma'am at Voice of World Inclusive Education Centre, Aaspriha Bhavan. Seated on the floor with paints and paper, the children explored their creativity in a calm and focused session — a beautiful example of the hands-on, nurturing learning environment that Aaspriha Bhavan provides every day.
Distinguished Guest Visits Voice of World Haripur Branch
A distinguished guest paid a visit to Voice of World's Haripur branch this week. Photos from the classroom captured the visitor alongside students seated at their desks and teachers at their side. School materials were warmly distributed to the children during the visit — a gesture of care and encouragement for the young learners. The visit reflected the continued support that Voice of World's schools receive from well-wishers across the community.
Jamai Shashthi Celebrations in Chandannagar
Group members shared glimpses from the vibrant Jamai Shashthi (Son-in-Law's Sixth) celebrations in Chandannagar, organised by the Sananda Group. The evening festival — held at Barabazar along the Strand — featured the Keenakatha Phataphati 2 exhibition and fair, bringing together the wider Bengali community in a lively celebration of this beloved tradition of welcoming sons-in-law with warmth and festivity.
Bhagavad Gita Reading & Spiritual Discussion at Sekharbazar Centre
Voice of World's Sekharbazar Centre hosted a special Bhagavad Gita reading and spiritual discussion programme, organised by the Gita Prachar O Prasar Samiti (Gita Dissemination and Propagation Society). The programme commenced at 3:00 PM and continued for approximately three hours. Members of the Voice of World community — students, families, staff, and friends — were invited to join in the collective reading and contemplation of Krishna's timeless teachings. A banner announcing the event was displayed prominently at the main Voice of World school gate at 4, Nrisingha Dutta Road, Kolkata 700 008.
Students Visit Harippur Jibanananda Sevashram KG School
Voice of World students and staff made a joyful visit to Harippur Jibanananda Sevashram KG School on Sunday. Photos captured children walking through the school corridor in an orderly line, accompanied by teachers and staff. The visit offered students the enriching experience of exploring another institution devoted to children's care and learning — and was a lovely outing that strengthened the bond between two organisations committed to nurturing young lives.
